Makeup Shopping at Duty Free Fiesta Mall
November 8, 2009
So what did I find there? There was a whole half of the place dedicated to makeup and skincare. Luxury/department store brands such as Chanel, Estee Lauder, Clinique, Shieseido, Shu Uemura, Smashbox, Clarins, L’Occitane and The Body Shop have counters at the mall. Drugstore brands such as Maybelline, L’Oreal and Revlon are there. There are other brands that aren’t that popular here in the Philippines so I didn’t catch their names. They were on a 40% off sale though.

As expected, the makeup at Duty Free is cheaper than those sold outside in malls such as SM, Robinson’s, Shangri-la, Trinoma, and so on. I’d say they’re cheaper by about 20% to 40%. The drugstore makeup’s price difference isn’t very big but the more expensive brands have a marked price difference. For example, I read that the Shu Uemura Glow On blushes go for as high as P1,800 (GASP) in the Philippines. I got mine in Duty Free for only $25. How awesome is that?
What I got: Shiseido Supplist Poreless Powder Foundation refill in 040 ($36), Shiseido case ($12), Smashbox Wish Eye Palette ($42), and Shu Uemura Glow On in Amber ($25). Reviews to follow soon of course! Anyway, I hope to come back here next year to raid the makeup aisles - hopefully, at my dad’s expense again. Haha. There’s nothing better than free, tax-free makeup don’t you think? I love my dad!

You just gave me an idea!
I think I’ll ask dad to buy me some makeup the next time he comes home and shops at Duty Free.
