How To Shape Your Eyebrows

Eyebrows are one of the most important features of our face. Groomed and shaped properly, they can make your face look longer or less angled, depending on your needs. Your eyes would also look cleaner, more open, and more attractive. Hence, I never miss this step in my daily beauty routine. I can go out with no lipstick or blush or even eyeliner as long as my eyebrows are made up. Why? Because my face is roundish-oblongish. My face looks less fat with shaped eyebrows.

To share the love, I made this tutorial on how I shape my eyebrows using eyeshadows/ eyebrow powders. Take note that there are tons of varieties of eyebrow makeup out there, such as pencil liners, liquid pigments, and colored wax. However, this is my preferred method as its easier and faster to execute with natural results. Ready? Here goes!

What you’ll need: A stiff, angled brush, a lash and brow comb, and a powdered pigment that is two shades lighter than your hair color

Step 1: Start with groomed brows (of course!). Have them threaded, tweezed, or waxed by professionals—please, if you’re not confident about your plucking skillz, do not do it at home. You’ll regret it for a couple of months. As for me, I pluck my brows with my best friend, the tweezer. Here are additional tips in grooming your brows.

Step 2: Apply the powder with the angled brush starting from the thickest tip closest to your nose. Like in coloring books, don’t go beyond the natural lines of your brows. Pay attention to gaps, places where there is less hair.

Step 3: As you near the arch, twist your brush so that its end directly points to your brow. Brush upwards in small feathery motions. Make sure the line is clean and precise.

Step 4: Just draw a line following the tip of your eyebrows. If you want to make them longer, extend beyond the tip (but not beyond your eyes), still following the line. Use a light touch.

Step 5 (optional): Use a brow brush to soften up any harsh edges. Brush upwards and then sidewards from the arch to the tip.
