Review: Maybelline Angelfit liquid foundation

April 30, 2008

Bought one of these at Watson’s and I’m duly impressed. Besides the fact that it’s made for Asian skin and released only here in Asia, let me count the ways:

  • It’s easy to blend and apply. No need for a taclon foundation brush or sponge—fingers would do really well. A little goes a long way too!
  • I found an almost-perfect color match! Natural Buff is a light-medium shade with yellow undertones.
  • Coverage is good and seamless; two layers on problem areas (eyebags and blemishes) will do the trick.
  • Lasting power is okay. Can’t say it’s awesome but it didn’t melt off my face at the end of the day.
  • It makes my skin look "luminous" due to an ingredient called Pink Pearls. However, let’s be frank here people and qualify "luminous" (or radiant). When products say they can make your skin look "luminous" they usually mean "shiny". The pro is that shiny-looking face (that looks subtly glowing and not oily ha—there’s a huge difference!) makes your makeup look more natural. Matte face products on the other hand makes skin look flat and cakey. In the end it depends on your preference; some women don’t get or like the shiny look, and some love it (like me). It really depends on what you’re comfortable wearing.

You’ve GOT to love how the light hits Beyonce’s face. And it’s cos of the makeup!

Matte foundation. Looks lacking to me.

Anyway, Maybelline Angelfit gives me that subtle shiny look (or luminous glow, hehe). That’s why I set it immediately with a translucent finishing powder to preserve the semi-shiny finish of the foundation.

And that’s about it. If you’ve tried the Maybelline Angelfit liquid foundation, please share your thoughts!

I tried the powder foundation form..nice natural looking coverage..But with our hot and humid weather in the philippines, I had oiliness in my face after 2 hours (I took a jeep and walked to go somewhere)..It claims to be hypo-allergenic and I think its mild naman. No pimples or breaking out formt his one

i’ve been using maybelline’s clear smooth gel foundation for four years already, because it’s the only thing i could use without my face breaking up. but, the coverage leaves a lot to be desired. so when watsons had a sale, i bought a bottle of liquid angelfit, and i liked the way it easily blends into the skin. a little really goes a long way, and it does not feel oily or heavy, unlike Revlon Colorstay (which also caused my skin to breakout- it’s not non-comedogenic, mind you!) or L’oreal true match.

This is the best liquid foundation I’ve tried so far. Application is fool-proof. The foundation doesn’t turn orange on my skin unlike others I had tried. No skin breakout nor rashes. And I’ve found my perfect color match in buff.

However, if you’re requiring a foundation that provides heavy coverage, this is not for you.

ive tried the Maybelline angelfit liquid foundation and it made my face very soft…and a bit luminous…or i may say a bit shiny…

so youre right put some translucent powder after applying it for that long lasting look…

hhmmm i love it coz no matter how much i put it still looks more natural than maybelline mousse foundation…

i’m curently using the angelfit in healthy ochre shade of this compact foundation. first time i apply it,it made me really say, “oh my god!” haha no kidding,i swear. my officemates used to call me “kabuki” just like a japanese girl with a very white make up on their face. but now,i found the perfect shade, perfect brand and a perfect foundation for me. i just love it. cons are i think that after my shift,i noticed my skin is a little bit oilly, but oiliness is actually fine. it looks natural. also,it’s not cackey after my shift! and i love the packaging, really so kikay.. =)

ia there any other liquid foundation that can be use in this hot sweaty weather of the phillipines? the one that canot be easily wash away wen i want it to stay on my face and can be easily removed wen i dont like it anymore n i hav to go to bed na? umg parang my antidote xa..ung meron xang sariling solution na remover…does not clog pores …no break outs…..high quality foundation na pang masa na pwd i wear kht commute lng sa jeep..tapos my spf 5o+ na ka agad so that i wont put sunblock muna?…huhuhu..inventohin nio nato..plssss

well, i think your best option would be mineral foundation. it sticks, its light, it doesnt clog pores, and is easy to remove with any garden-variety makeup remover. i dont know about sunblock tho. i suggest to just use a moisturizer with spf as a base for your foundation.

if youre looking for mineral foundation at a pang-masa price, do check out http://ellanaminerals.com. i think their foundation sells for only P175 for 2.5g, which is a lot already. i’ve been using the foundation for a few days and i must say im impressed with the quality. However, you’d have to buy a special brush, a kabuki brush to buff in the foundation, which is around P500-700 from Multiply sellers and ebay as well. :D

hope this helps.

I love angelfit by maybelline, i just recieved mine from the package 2 days ago and i ADORE this product. it doesnt look like i have foundation on my face at all, the liquid is like water it spreads well. if you like natural-like foundations, i would recommend this :D

I’ve been using this (shell beige) for almost two years now, and it’s great! No breakouts or blackheads whatsoever. It’s coverage leaves something to be desired if you do have some blemishes, but I found out that patting a little on those does the trick. But over-all it’s really great!

P.S. My officemates even ask me if I have diamond peals, I tell them no. They think I really have great skin! Which I don’t ^^. Hehe.
